Washington's Ross says he's entering NBA draft

Washington sophomore Terrence Ross is giving up his final two seasons to enter the NBA Draft, the school announced Sunday.

The 6-foot-6 guard averaged a team-best 16.4 points this past season, pulled down 6.4 rebounds per game and shot 45.7 percent from the field. He was named to the All-Pac-12 first team.

?I discussed the pros and cons with my family and I just think this is a great step for me and it?s time for me to take my game to the next level,? Ross said.

?Being at Washington and playing for Coach (Lorenzo) Romar has been a blessing. On the court, off the court, with school and in life ? it?s just been a real blessing to consider myself a Husky and get to where I am now.?

Ross was at his best late in the season. He averaged 25.0 points?he scored 23, 32, 24 and 21?in four NIT games.

?We wish Terrence the best,? Romar said. ?He was refreshing to coach because of his humility and team-first attitude. We wish him well and anticipate that he will have an excellent NBA career.?

NBAdraft.net projects Ross as a middle of the first round pick, going 19th to Atlanta.
